Black Swan Wargaming

Two scenarios. Three days. An inquiry into what Word on Fire becomes when the world breaks — or when it wins too hard, too fast.

"We need the Leadership Council to think outside their safe certitudes. Lets strip away the certitudes and see how we think. How do we swing an unpredictable catastrophe into our favor."

— Father Steve, Guidance to the Leadership Council

Black Swan · I
The AI-Driven Economic & Technological Cascade
AI as both accelerant and shockwave.
A systemic economic shock driven by artificial intelligence destabilizes markets, retail, publishing, and the technological substrate WOF depends on. Category collapse, deplatforming, and cascade failure converge.

Victims of Our Own Success
The best-case scenario becomes the worst scenario.
Lumen breaks into the mainstream. Netflix bids $250M for the platform. Musk gives $100M unrestricted. A Big Five publisher wants to run WOF Publishing. Warehouse, print, contractors all maxed. Five patronage proposals circulate without LC review. The stressors that forged the mission are gone — and whether we can still recognize the mission without them.
